During my PhD in Neuroscience at University of Turin (Italy), the main goal of my research was to understand the bodily self-identity in static and dynamic conditions, mainly exploiting the possibilities offered by Immersive Virtual Reality (IVR). Then, I worked at the Smart Aging Research Center (IDAC, Tohoku University) where I developed protocols to improve physical and cognitive functions of young people and elderly, using IVR and ICT based solutions.
Currently at the IRCN (The University of Tokyo) I include robotics in my research activity to explore and support neurodiversity; I am particularly interested in physiological measurements related to motion and body consciousness within human-robot interaction.
