I have studied “cumulative cultural evolution,” in which human culture (e.g., technology and language) becomes more advanced over generations. In my current research, I’m interested in the mechanism by which teaching facilitates cultural learning in children. To investigate these questions, I combine behavioral experiments and computational modeling.
